Today, I’d like to say a few more words about the incredible Hamza Igamane. About a year ago, I made a post about him, but I’ve been following him for longer than that, just as I do with many players I write about. Hamza is a player without a standout record in Morocco’s youth national teams—almost no record at all. What impressed me the most about him is his physical strength and composure in decisive moments.

Playing as a young striker in Morocco’s top league is not easy. It’s a tough league with not many goals scored, yet he handled himself remarkably well. His summer transfer to Scottish side Rangers didn’t come as a surprise to me, but it certainly did to the public. During his adaptation period, the media speculated that Rangers needed a new striker in the winter transfer window, not expecting Hamza to literally explode onto the scene.

But then he started proving himself: first, two goals and an assist in a win against Nice, followed by two goals in three league matches, and finally, last night’s performance against Tottenham. He not only scored a goal but also impressed with his defensive contributions.

Philippe Clement praised Hamza Igamane for his progress after the Moroccan scored in Rangers’ 1-1 Europa League draw with Tottenham. Igamane netted just after half-time at Ibrox, marking his fifth goal in as many games. Despite a slow start in Glasgow, Clement commended Igamane’s dedication and improvement since joining in the last transfer window.

Hamza Igamane stood out during the match, having returned with a bang after his impressive double in the Europa League. The Moroccan forward, who had been awaiting his chance since joining Glasgow last summer, delivered a breathtaking strike for Rangers’ third goal, capturing the adoration of fans and critics alike. Clement, who had secured Igamane for £1.8million, remarked, “His talent had been recognized by many, described as a ‘rough diamond’ with the promise of brilliance. It was crucial for us to invest in players with potential to develop, especially considering the club’s past difficulties in transferring assets.”

As Clement reflected on the attributes that Igamane and his teammates possess, he underscored the importance of hunger and desire. “Every player must maintain that drive; if they do, there’s no telling how far they can go. Sometimes, creating competition through tough decisions like benching players is necessary to ignite that hunger again. Hamza is doing exceptional things, and I believe he can reach new heights with continued hard work and commitment,” he concluded.
